You can walk all the way to Lady Bird Lake which incidentally is not far away. There are boutique shops down the main drags like south first, South Congress “aka SOCO” and South Lamar. The real fun is when you stumble upon one of the outdoor festivals like First Thursday to pick up a new accessory for your home or just to enjoy live music at one of the outdoor venues to celebrate the warm weather. The 04’s claim to fame is the die-hard love for supporting local crafts people. So many of the goods you will find were made if not here in Texas, here in Austin.
