Right in the middle of the Northwest Austin region, right around where Highway 360 hits Highway 183 is a part of town called the Arboretum. This area contains plenty of shopping for clothing, home furnishings, nationally proclaimed restaurant choices, and a few parks and play areas for the kids. Northwest Austin is a great area for anyone who wants to be away from all the craziness of downtown and is searching for a little slice of peace while still having all the modern amenities of the big city.

This suburb of central Austin has no definite dividing line, but for the most part, Northwest Austin is the stretch of Austin that branches from Cedar Park to Mopac along the 183 Highway. This area, in general, is excellent for folks commuting further north to areas like Round Rock, George town, Cedar Park, Leander, and is very accessible to Mopac if one needs to commute further south or into Downtown Austin. Regarding the apartments in this area, you will find pricing more competitive, and apartment options vary from spots that feel more traditional and homey to the upscale luxury type choices.
